*~*~*~*~GIVEAWAY TIME~*~*~*~*

I reached 100 followers last week :D

So thank you, thank you all <3

In honor of this I’ve decided to do a giveaway

That means that you, that’s right, YOU can win 1 (one) God Tier hoodie of your choice, any size, shipped to anywhere you want, all covered by me!!

Here are the rules:

  • You do not have to be following me, though a follow would be very nice
  • You can like once and reblog once. Seeing dashboards clogged with one giveaway is annoying. One like and one reblog will give you two entries.
  • You must have your ask box open so I can contact you when this ends
  • This whole thing will end exactly one month from now, on June 15th,12 am. I do hold the right to push this date back, depending on notes and my financial situation.

I’ll keep track of everything and use a random number generator to choose the winner. Thanks for playing, good luck, and have fun!

Shameless want repost.

These guys are amazingly unique with their music and acts, I like them a lot, so what better to do then try and share them with anyone who might stumble into this blog o’ mine.

Silent Song

Divided across a planet

Yet close as can be

Two people yearning

For unspoken words to be free

Together in silence they sing

A song that would never be heard

Though the meaning it holds

Might transcend the words

Though the space between is great

It will never be empty

For between them is what could only be described

As a truly beautiful symphony

Rant: Art

For my first rant I figured I’d start somewhere close to home, and what’s closer to this proverbial home then what this ‘blog’ is about? Art. Now, I personally try to keep as objective a view as possible on things, though with a subject like this, which is by it’s nature subjective it’s obviously a bit harder. Now this is a manner of my own personal opinion, and you’re free to disagree if you so choose, but to me, art is quite simply the expression of an idea or a powerful emotion through a creative medium. By that definition, what I create is art. But my problem lately, and the reason I’m ranting about this topic is because people have systematically tried to bring about the systematization of art. Honestly I don’t blame them. Art, by it’s nature as an expression of something essentially intangible, is chaotic. As a species our mind’s are hard-wired to find patterns, and if one doesn’t exist, we try to make one, because it makes our lives easier. It’s much easier to think of art as something in a museum then under this extremely broad/vague idea. But as a result of this, we have created ‘The Artist’, this stereotypical psuedo-intellectual who will try and profess to be some kind of connoisseur about ‘art’ and try and tell you what is and is not art, and why, usually commenting on the fact that it ‘lacks a certain finesse’ or some other pandering non-sense.

Personally, this is a very sad occurrence for me, because what that does is tell people who create something filled with creativity and passion that what they have made means less then what someone else makes because of the ‘vibe’ they get from the piece. This brings up a point of great contention between ‘liberal’ and ‘conservative’ artists. Where do we draw the line? Is there one? Is the badly scribbled doodle created by your nephew art? Is the horrible Twilight fan-fiction you just read that made you dry heave for half-an-hour art? Truth is, there is no solid answer. And I think that’s the point. Like I said, art is subjective. The message is the same however many times you may read my poems, but what you take away with it will determine if you as a person value it as art. To those of you who see problems with deforestation and see us killing the Earth, Ink may have been about how we’re destroying nature. Some of you may see it as how our society tends to not care about creative expressionism anymore. Maybe you thought it was just pretentious artistic bullshit, and honestly that’s fine too. The point of art is that it is supposed to make you feel. Whether it is raw emotion, or whether it is for a character, or a topic. If it doesn’t make you feel something, then it’s not ‘art’ for you

Ink

Purity

Untainted

Fragile and small

A swing… a stroke

Once snowy plains drenched

Gashed and ripped, bleeding

Thick black blood…

If it’s blood am I a murderer?

Does my craft mock nature?

What was once mighty and beautiful

Now reduced to small ugly marks

Do they mean anything?

In the grand scheme of things

Will it change anything?

Anyone?

Or is it nothing but a parody of death?

A mockery of what should still be?

More importantly…

Does anyone care?

First ‘Official’ Post. Yay.

So I’m kinda new to the whole ‘tumblr art/personal blog’ thing, so pardon if I derp as I learn. I guess this one should be an introduction or something like that. I’m Grave. I write. Poems. Short Stories. Rants. Your mom. The list goes on. Sometimes it’ll be funny. Sometimes it will be sad. I don’t even know how requests would work but I’ll give ‘em a shot if you have any (if I ever gain any followers). This will, as I said earlier also be a personal blog, so I might just post or reblog random shit at my own discretion.
